Both of Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and forward Joaquin Correa are planning to be fit to face Man City.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that while neither of the duo will push their recovery timelines, they are both aiming to recover from injuries in time for next month’s Champions League final.

Both of Mkhitaryan and Correa are currently out with injuries.

Midfielder Mkhitaryan has missed out on the Nerazzurri’s past couple Serie A matches as well as the Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina. The 34-year-old suffered a thigh strain in the Nerazzurri’s Champions League semifinal second leg win over AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Correa suffered a calf problem in Inter’s Coppa Italia final win over La Viola. The 28-year-old came on as a substitute in the closing stages of that match, and picked up the problem.

Inter Duo Mkhitaryan & Correa Targeting Man City Return

Inter have two more matches left to play this season.

The first to come is their final Serie A match of the campaign, away to Torino next weekend.

Neither of Mkhitaryan nor Correa will be fit to be in the squad for that match.

However, the final match of the campaign could be the most important of the Nerazzurri’s entire season. Inter will face City in Istanbul on June 10 for a chance to become European champions.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will want everyone fit to make their contributions.

As such, both of Mkhitaryan and Correa will be very keen to be ready for the final.

Mkhitaryan has been a key player all through the season. The Armenian played in a European final with Roma last season, helping the Giallorossi win the Europa Conference League.

Meanwhile, Correa could give the Nerazzurri additional depth in attack against City.

According to the Corriere, neither of the pair would rush back if they are unable to get fit in time. However, with two weeks to go and a less hectic fixture schedule, both have their sights set on Istanbul.
