Former Inter Milan defender Daniele Adani feels that strikers Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez have gotten back to their form from under former Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, via FCInterNews, the former defender praised the pair for their form and chemistry.

Whilst Conte had been coach, Lukaku and Martinez had formed a devastating tandem in Serie A.

Then, when the former Juventus and Chelsea boss left, Lukaku followed him out the door.

The Belgian was back for the start of this season, although far from his best. Lukaku’s season was badly disrupted by injuries, and even when he has been fit, he has not looked the same player that he had under Conte.

Meanwhile, over the last two seasons, Martinez has been left to carry a lot of the attacking burden for Inter. The Argentine has sometimes run hot and cold, but he has been the Nerazzurri’s talisman in attack.

In the past few weeks, Lukaku has finally looked back to his best, or at least close to it. However, the 30-year-old has predominantly played alongside Joaquin Correa rather than his old strike partner Martinez.

Against Atalanta over the weekend, however, the pair started together.

It looked as though with Lukaku back in form, he was really starting to reignite his understanding with Martinez.

Ex-Inter Defender Adani: Lukaku & Lautaro Martinez Playing Like They Did Under Conte

Adani argued that “The football that Inter are playing right now is giving everyone hope.”

“The attacking duo has returned to the level they were at under Conte, with Lautaro on top in the world and Lukaku is really starting to affect matches.”

“So whether you start with Lautaro, Lukaku or Dzeko, all three strikers are in great form.”

“If they aren’t playing like themselves, or they play within themselves out of fear, they’ll lose against City,” he added.
