Qatar Airways are currently the favourites to become the new main shirt sponsor of Inter Milan starting next season.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that whilst there is no agreement yet between the Nerazzurri and the Qatar-based airline, the negotiations are currently in an advanced state.

Qatar Airway Favourites To Become New Inter Milan Shirt Sponsor

Qatar Airways have already been the sponsor of one team in Serie A – Roma.

The Giallorossi had played with the airline’s logo on the front of their shirts before replacing it with DigitalBits.

Both Inter and Roma removed the DigitalBits logo from their shirts last month. This was in response to the cryptocurrency company’s continued nonpayment of amounts owed on their shirt sponsorship deal.

The situation with DigitalBits became calamitous for the Nerazzurri. The company has been unable to pay any of the amount owed for this season on their sponsorship agreement with the club.

Accordingly, the search for a new shirt sponsor for next season has been a priority behind the scenes.

The Nerazzurri have been playing without a logo on their shirts for around a month now. However, that certainly won’t be the case for next season.

Turkish Airlines had already been linked as a name in their search during the past couple months. Meanwhile, the likes of LeoVegas, Binance, and Hisense have also been linked.

Qatar Airlines Also Have Partnerships With PSG & Bayern Munich

As Tuttosport note, Roma aren’t the only big club to have links with Qatar Airways.

The airline also has a commercial partnership with Paris Saint-Germain, perhaps not surprising given the Parisians’ Qatari ownership.

Meanwhile, Qatar Airways also have a partnership with German giants Bayern Munich.
