Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti believes Inter Milan targets Nacho Fernandez and Dani Ceballos will stay and extend their contracts.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInterNews, the Merengues coach expressed optimism that the Nerazzurri-linked duo will decide to remain in the Spanish capital this summer rather than leaving on free transfers at the end of their current deals.

Inter are reportedly ready to sign two Real Madrid players on free transfers this summer.

Former Real Betis and Arsenal midfielder Ceballos is one of them. Then, veteran defender Nacho is another player who is on the Nerazzurri’s radar.

In both cases, the players in question are not necessarily regulars in Los Blancos’ starting eleven.

However, the Spanish giants have nevertheless offered both of the pair new deals. The two Spaniards have been with Real for several seasons each, winning the Champions League and La Liga with the club on multiple occasions.

Ancelotti Optimistic That Inter Linked Duo Nacho & Ceballos Will Decide To Stay

Real have already lost a couple of players on free transfers this summer.

One is Spanish winger Marco Asensio. The club have announced that the 27-year-old has declined to accept their offer of a new contract.

Asensio will join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer ahead of next season.

Meanwhile, legendary striker Karim Benzema will also leave Real this summer. The 35-year-old French international departs fourteen years after joining from Real.

However, there are still other contract situations at the Santiago Bernabeu which are yet to be resolved.

For his part, Real coach Ancelotti is optimistic about these talks.

The coach stated that “Asensio, Ceballos, and Nacho all have contracts that are about to expire, and I explained to all three their role for the future.”

“When I explained things clearly to them, the club made them an offer,” he continued.

Ancelotti noted that “Marco preferred a change of scenery. The other two are making their assessments.”

“But I believe that in the end, both of them will stay,” he said of Nacho and Ceballos.
