Chelsea are ready to offer Inter Milan defender Kalidou Koulibaly on loan as part of a deal for Andre Onana.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews, who report that the Blues could offer the 31-year-old Senegalese international plus cash to the Nerazzurri for Onana should they miss out on AC Milan’s Mike Maignan.
It’s no secret that Chelsea are keen to sign a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window.
Inter star Onana is one of their main targets.
The Cameroonian only joined the Nerazzurri last summer on a free transfer from Ajax. However, his performances this season have already cemented his reputation.
Alternatively, La Repubblica report, Chelsea have also turned their attention to Inter’s city rivals.
According to the newspaper, the Londoners would be ready to offer €60 million for Milan keeper Mike Maignan.
However, the Rossoneri are hopeful of extending Maignan’s contract.
Should Chelsea miss out on the Frenchman, they would turn their attention back to Onana. And, according to La Repubblica, they have a strategy to get him.
Chelsea To Offer Inter Koulibaly As Part Of Onana Deal
La Repubblica report that Chelsea’ idea is to convince Inter to sell Onana with a player-plus-cash offer.
The Blues have already tried this strategy, to little avail. Inter reportedly have zero interest in taking keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga as part of a deal for Onana.
However, Chelsea could include Koulibaly as part of a deal.
The 31-year-old has been on Inter’s radar for some time. Whilst Koulibaly only joined Chelsea from Napoli last summer, they’d be ready to allow him to leave.
The Blues are ready to offer the ex-Partenopei defender to Inter on loan in addition to a big cash fee for Onana.
If Onana is to leave, Inter will immediately move for Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario as his replacement.
