Inter Milan are keen to extend the contract of coach Simone Inzaghi, who has the full faith of everyone at the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Simone Inzaghi has really gone “from zero to hero” in the space of just a couple months.

In April and even May there had been rumours of a sacking for the coach. Turmoil in terms of the team’s Serie A form seemed to make these suggestions inevitable.

According to the Gazzetta, however, the fact remains that Inzaghi has always enjoyed the backing of the club.

President Steven Zhang in particular has always gotten along very well with the 47-year-old former Lazio coach. The Gazzetta note that the pair seem to be on a similar wavelength.

This has meant that, even through the worst periods of the season, Zhang has always maintained his trust in Inzaghi.

And now, that trust has been vindicated. Inzaghi has guided Inter to a Champions League final, and the rumours about the coach’s future have vanished.

Inter Milan Want To Extend Contract Of Simone Inzaghi

Zhang has already confirmed that Inzaghi will stay another season. So has Inter CEO Beppe Marotta.

According to the Gazzetta, these professions of faith in the coach have always been totally sincere. Behind the scenes, Zhang and the Nerazzurri directors are impressed with Inzaghi and his work.

The mood behind the scenes is all going in one direction – stay on with Inzaghi, as everyone is happy with the status quo with the former Lazio boss in charge.

Accordingly, now the club will have to give Inzaghi a contract extension.

Last summer, the coach signed a new deal in mid-June, which took him to next June.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter’s plan is to do the same this summer. The club will extend their coach’s deal until the end of June 2025 in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, Inzaghi will receive a pay raise to reflect the club’s faith in him.
