Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has prepared for tomorrow’s Champions League final clash with Man City on both a tactical and a psychological level.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who note that the 47-year-old has a plan to get the better of the Cityzens.

Inter coach Inzaghi will know exactly what he’s up against at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium tomorrow.

The Nerazzurri face a Manchester City team who have looked virtually unstoppable, both domestically and in Europe.

In the Champions League knockout rounds, the Cityzens brushed past RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid.

According to the Gazzetta, it is the tie against Real that Inzaghi is particularly interested in.

The newspaper report that the coach has been keen to avoid the pitfalls of getting penned in by City as Los Blancos did in their second leg humiliation.

Inzaghi has no intention of employing a “catenaccio” or “parking the bus” strategy. He has seen in the Real tie how effective City are at strangling a team who try to play that way.

Rather, the Gazzetta report, the coach is focused on keeping a defensive line that makes it hard for City to maintain easy possession.

Then, Inzaghi wants his team to try to win the ball back aggressively in certain situations. That way they can mount quick and precise passing moves on the counterattack.

Not Just Tactics – Inter Coach Inzagh Also Focused On Psychology Vs Man City

In order to carry out his tactical vision, Inzaghi knows how important psychology will be.

The Inter coach is stressing confidence and an upbeat attitude. He does not want his players to feel too much pressure.

Moreover, Inzaghi is looking to put out an aggressive team.

Both in terms of mindset and physical condition, he wants his players to be full of energy.
