Inter Milan aren’t expecting Real Madrid to go all-out to sign superstar striker Lautaro Martinez during the summer transfer window.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are ready to make the 25-year-old a central piece of their attack next season and would have zero intention of selling him this summer.
Despite an underwhelming outing in the Champions League final against Manchester City, no one doubts Martinez’s importance to Inter.
This season, the Argentine has finished as the Nerazzurri’s top scorer. That makes it the second campaign in a row in which that’s the case.
According to the Gazzetta, Martinez is the one striker who Inter feel absolutely certain they will be betting on next season.
The futures of all of Romelu Lukaku, Edin Dzeko, and Joaquin Correa are in the balance. Any and all of the trio who leave would be promptly replaced.
However, in the case of Martinez, Inter are fully gearing up with another season with the Argentine leading the line.
Inter Milan Not Worried About A Real Madrid Assault For Lautaro Martinez
La Liga giants Real Madrid have been linked with an interest in Martinez.
This would not be the first time that a big European team has been keen on the Nerazzurri striker. The likes of Barcelona and Man City have also tried to sign Martinez in the past.
Reportedly, Los Blancos have lined up the 25-year-old as a possible replacement for Karim Benzema in the Number Nine position.
On the other hand, Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti has made clear that he doesn’t expect Martinez to leave. The Nerazzurri executive made clear that Real have not made any offers for the Argentine as of yet.
According to the Gazzetta, Inter feel secure. The Nerazzurri believe that Martinez will stay next for next season.
