Inter Milan have reportedly made a breakthrough on the front of Davide Frattesi having found an agreement in principle with Sassuolo over the player’s transfer, but the final approval from Suning is still missing.
According to Sky Sport via FcInterNews, Nerazzurri officials had dinner with their Neroverdi counterparts on Wednesday evening to discuss the future of the 23-year-old.
Moreover, Inter also have an agreement in place with the player who would be eager to join Simone Inzaghi’s ranks.
This is a major development in the race for Frattesi which also includes the likes of Roma and Juventus.
The source adds that Samuele Mulattieri will be heading in the opposite direction as part of the exchange deal.
The young striker spent the last campaign on loan from Inter at Frosinone. He managed to impress while helping his temporary employers secure promotion to the top flight after finishing on top of the Serie B table.
However, the report believes that one key element remains missing: the approval of the Beneamata owners.
As the source explains, the Inter directors still need the green light from Suning and club president Steven Zhang to splash the cash on Frattesi.
The initial plan was to fund the transfer campaign by making a few sales. So while the club is yet to generate cash from any departures, the directors must have Suning’s pre-approval before finalizing Frattesi’s transfer.
However, the Nerazzurri must act swiftly, as time is running out and the player has other top suitors on the market.
