Netherlands Star Opens Up About His Future: ‘I Love Inter & I Have No Reason To Leave, But Modern Football Is Very Dynamic’

Wingback Denzel Dumfries admits that while he is happy at Inter Milan, he can’t rule out a transfer away this summer.

Speaking in a press conference with the Dutch national team, via FCInterNews, the 27-year-old opened up about his future.

Dumfries is one of a number of Inter player to be the subject of some big transfer rumours for this summer.

As things stand, the Dutchman is under contract with the Nerazzurri until the end of June 2025. Dumfries joined Inter from PSV in the summer of 2021, signing a four-year deal with the club.

However, throughout his time as an Inter player, some big European clubs have reportedly shown an interest in signing Dumfries.

The Dutchman has come onto the radar of Bayern Munich and Man United last summer. And Chelsea, in particular, have looked keen to sign the 27-year-old, both last summer and then in the January transfer window.

In the end, throughout all the transfer rumours, Dumfries has remained an Inter player.

Denzel Dumfries Opens Up About Future At Inter Milan

The former PSV man started in the Champions League against Manchester City. He was a regular starter for the Nerazzurri throughout the Champions League knockout stages.

Dumfries has settled into life at Inter. According to the player concerned, he is happy and enjoys being at the club.

However, at the same time, the 27-year-old does not exclude the possibility of his future being somewhere other than the San Siro.

“I’m very proud to play for this team,” Dumfries said of being an Inter player.

“These last two years have been fantastic, and I’ve very proud whenever I’m driving to Appiano [Inter’s training ground].”

“However, modern football is very dynamic,” Dumfries admitted. “Players come and go.”

The Dutchman made clear that “I have no reason to leave.”

“I love Inter,” he continued. “But as I said before, you have to wait and see what happens. However, I’m very happy to play for Inter.”
