Defender Danilo D’Ambrosio and goalkeeper Samir Handanovic could follow striker Edin Dzeko in leaving Inter Milan on a free transfer.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that this summer could see a clearout of some of the Nerazzurri’s most experienced players, starting with Dzeko’s anticipated departure to join Fenerbahce.

It now looks to be only a matter of time before former Roma and Manchester City man Dzeko leaves Inter.

The Bosnian is reportedly all ready to sign a two-year contract with Fenerbahce. He will arrive in the city of Istanbul to sign his deal this evening, according to a report from Turkey.

Dzeko has rejected the offer of an extension to his contract, which expires at the end of this month, from Inter.

However, the 37-year-old is far from the only Nerazzurri player whose current deal runs out at the end of this month.

D’Ambrosio & Handanovic Could Follow Dzeko Out Inter Exit Door

Versatile defender D’Ambrosio is also only a little more than a week away from seeing his current Inter contract expire.

As of yet, there is no indication that the Nerazzurri will agree an extension with the 34-year-old.

D’Ambrosio is a target for Monza in the event that he leaves on a free transfer this summer rather than signing a new deal.

The former Torino star signed a one-year contract extension with Inter last summer.

Another player who signed a one-year deal last summer is Nerazzurri captain Samir Handanovic.

The Slovenian went into the season still Inter’s first-choice goalkeeper. However, the arrival of Andre Onana always looked likely to change that, and so it has proven.

The Cameroonian has displaced Handanovic as the regular starter.

And, even if the captain were to stick around, Inter would still sign a new first-choice keeper.

Accordingly, Handanovic could decide to leave rather than signing a new deal. According to the Gazzetta, this looked quite probable.
