Chelsea have reportedly rejected a loan offer from Inter Milan for Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at the Giuseppe Meazza. His loan stint will expire at the end of the month, leaving his future in limbo.

Nevertheless, the 30-year-old is hellbent on extending his time with the Nerazzurri. He remains a fan favorite at the club and shares a strong rapport with his head coach Simone Inzaghi.

But according to The Telegraph via FcInterNews, the Blues have rejected the Italian club’s offer to extend the player’s loan. The reported bid was worth 7 million pounds.

Therefore, Inter will have to come forward with an improved proposal for Chelsea if they’re hoping to secure the services of Lukaku for another season.

Inter Will Have To Improve Their Offer To Chelsea To Secure Lukaku For Another Season

The former Everton and Man United star enjoyed a stellar first run in Italian football. He led Antonio Conte’s Inter towards the Scudetto title in 2021 while also collecting the Serie A MVP award.

Sadly, his career headed south afterwards. His mega-money switch to Chelsea proved to be unsuccessful, struggling for goals and form under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel.

Last summer, the striker completed a sensational return to Inter, but still endured a rough campaign. Yet, he displayed glimpses of his former self in the final stretch.

But if all parties are eager to find a solution, Lukaku’s desire to remain at Inter could still be fulfilled before the end of the summer.
