Inter Milan could offer Sampdoria young midfielder Giovanni Fabbian as part of a deal for goalkeeper Emil Audero.

This according to the Genoa-based edition of La Repubblica, via FCInterNews. The newspaper does not specify the exact terms on which Fabbian could be offered.

Sampdoria have suffered relegation to Serie B after a debacle of a 2022-23 season.

This will mean that the Ligurian club will have to sell a number of players. Audero is one player who looks very likely to be on his way.

The Italian international is proven at the Serie A level. Audero was hardly at fault for the Blucerchiati’s relegation, and already has suitors within Serie A.

Inter are looking for at least one goalkeeping signing during the summer transfer window – captain Samir Handanovic is ready to say goodbye after a decade at the club.

Moreover, the uncertain future of Andre Onana gives the Nerazzurri even more of an impetus to sign a keeper.

Inter Milan Could Offer Sampdoria Fabbian As Part Of Audero Deal

Sampdoria’s Audero is one of the names who Inter are thinking about moving for in terms of goalkeepers.

The Italian has certainly proven himself at the Serie A level, regardless of the Blucerchiati’s disaster season as a team.

As such, Audero could be a more than adequate backup option, either to Onana or to anyone else.

However, Sampdoria expect a fee of at least €10 million to sell the 26-year-old. This is more than Inter are keen to spend on a player who will only be a backup option.

Accordingly, the Genoa edition of La Repubblica reports, the Nerazzurri could think about offering a player-plus-cash deal for Audero.

Young midfielder Fabbian could be the player who heads to Liguria as part of the deal. It is not clear whether this would be on loan or on a permanent basis, however.

Fabbian has certainly proven himself in Serie B. The 20-year-old Inter-owned player has enjoyed a very impressive loan spell with Reggina.

Therefore, Sampdoria are thinking about him as a player who could be key to rebuilding in the second division.
