Torino have agreed a deal with Cagliari to sign Raoul Bellanova ahead of Inter Milan, but lack the player’s green light.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, who report that the Granata will wait until Bellanova returns from the Under-21 Euros to see if he will agree to the move.

Both of Inter and Torino have been aiming to sign Bellanova.

For the Nerazzurri, the aim is to sign the wingback on a permanent deal after having had him on loan last season. Inter had a purchase option in the loan deal, but they did not trigger it.

The Nerazzurri have instead aimed to agree a deal at a different fee. They have offered Cagliari players plus cash to try and wrap up a deal to sign Bellanova.

However, Torino have sensed an opportunity to move in and sign Bellanova instead of Inter.

The Granata are aiming to bring in reinforcements in wide areas for coach their Ivan Juric for next season. Bellanova is a player they’ve identified as having the ideal profile to slot into the Croat’s 3-5-2 setup.

According to Sky, Torino have made an offer to Cagliari, which the Sardinians have accepted.

Torino Agree Fee With Cagliari With Bellanova – But Player Could Still Choose Inter

If Bellanova says yes to the move to Torino, then that is where he’ll play next season.

However, the 22-year-old could still decide to reject the move.

Therefore, the Granata will have to wait to see what Bellanova decides. The Cagliari-owned wingback is currently in action for Italy at the Under-21 Euros.

Whenever the Azzurri’s tournament ends he’ll return to sort out his future at club level.

Inter had made Bellanova the promise that they’d attempt to sign him on a permanent basis this summer.

Now, the Nerazzurri are counting on Bellanova to tell Cagliari that he wants to join them over Torino.
