Inter Milan have made new contact with Atalanta to continue to discuss the possibility of signing goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, who report that the contacts between the clubs are ongoing after the Nerazzurri made their interest official in an initial call on Friday.

Inter are very much preparing for the possible exit of Onana.

Manchester United have made their first bid for the Cameroonian. Whilst the Nerazzurri have rejected it, they know an improved offer could soon follow.

Accordingly, searching for potential replacements for Onana is high on Inter’s list of priorities for the summer.

Shakhtar Donetsk keeper Anatoliy Trubin is high on the Nerazzurri’s shortlist. As is Valencia keepeer Giorgi Mamardashvili.

And another player on the Nerazzurri’s radar is young Atalanta and Italy Under-21 star Carnesecchi.

Inter Milan Continue Contacts With Atalanta For Marco Carnesecchi

According to SportItalia, Inter first made contact with Atalanta on Friday to formally register their interest in signing Carnesecchi.

And, the broadcaster continues, they once again had a phone conversation regarding the 23-year-old today.

Carnesecchi is a player who has been linked with Inter for some time now.

The Nerazzurri reportedly had Carnesecchi under close observation throughout last season. The Italian youth international had spent the campaign on loan with Cremonese.

He made 27 appearances in the league over the course of the campaign.

Even though the Lombard team were relegated back to Serie B, it was not because of any faults from Carnesecchi.

Rather, the 23-year-old had an outstanding campaign. He then followed it up with an impressive Under-21 Euros with Italy this summer, despite the Azzurri having exited the tournament.

As such, Inter believe that Carnesecchi has what it takes to make a further step up.

And, importantly, SportItalia note that they are in serious talks with his club.
