Inter Milan will make Hakan Calhanoglu and Alessandro Bastoni contract extensions official very soon, with only the announcements left.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInter1908, who report that the sale of Marcelo Brozovic has freed up the space on the Nerazzurri’s wage bill for them to get everything over the line with the pair’s new deals.

Extending the deals of Calhanoglu and Bastoni has been a priority of Inter for some time.

The pair both see their current contracts expire at the end of next June. And Inter would have absolutely no intention of heading into next season with either of them on expiring contracts.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri have spent the past few months working on new deals for both Calhanoglu and Bastoni.

And it has looked for some time as though the contracts would be on the way. However, as of yet nothing is official.

Both Calhanoglu and Bastoni are still, formally speaking, under contract with Inter until the end of June 2024.

Inter Milan To Announce Calhanoglu & Bastoni Contract Extensions Soon

That will change soon, though.

Tuttosport reports that the sale of Marcelo Brozovic will be the crucial trigger for Inter to get everything over the line with Calhanoglu and Bastoni’s contract extensions.

The Croat had been one of the Nerazzurri’s highest earners on the deal that he signed last spring. Now, with Brozovic out the door, significant space has opened up in Inter’s wage bill.

Accordingly, Inter are ready to move forward and make everything official for both Calhanoglu and Bastoni’s new deals.

The signatures are ready, and now all that’s missing is the official announcements, reports Tuttosport.

Calhanoglu has made 95 appearances for the Nerazzurri since joining from city rivals AC Milan in the summer of 2021.

Meanwhile, Bastoni has made 197 appearances for Inter over the past four seasons.
