After Marcus Thuram, Inter Milan have now won another transfer duel against AC Milan with Davide Frattesi set to join Simone Inzaghi’s ranks.

As Tuttosport (via FcInterNews) explains, the Nerazzurri now have their crosstown rivals’ number in the summer transfer market.

The Rossoneri were supposedly close to signing Thuram, only for Inter to surge forward and overtake them in the race.

The French international has already completed his free transfer to Appiano Gentile after seeing out his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach.

As for Frattesi, his arrival to Inter should ensue in the 48 hours. The Italian international should join on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Inter Milan Have Beaten AC Milan In Two Transfer Duels This Summer, First Marcus Thuram and Now Davide Frattesi

The source claims that Milan did attempt to sabotage Inter’s plans for the 23-year-old midfielder.

The Diavolo have just sold Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United for a whopping transfer figure. They’re now searching the market for a competent replacement.

However, Milan decided to drop out of the race for Frattesi after understanding that Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali already had an agreement in place with Inter.

The report adds that the Beneamata have immediately turned their attention towards signing the Neroverdi star after collecting funds from Marcelo Brozovic’s sale to Al-Nassr.

While some expected them to launch an onslaught for Romelu Lukaku, Inter prioritized Frattesi ahead of the Belgian bomber.
