Inter Milan are still keen on maintaining Romelu Lukaku and the sale of André Onana could provide the necessary funds.

The Belgian made a sensational return to the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium last season following a forgettable campaign at Chelsea.

However, the Nerazzurri never had the option or the financial means to buy him outright. Nevertheless, the Italians are hellbent on securing the coup.

So according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Inter Milan would be able to secure an agreement with Chelsea for Lukaku once they complete the sale of Onana.

Man United have identified the Cameroonian as a primary transfer target. The Red Devils view him as the ideal candidate to succeed David De Gea.

Although the Old Trafford side remains far from Inter’s valuation, the two parties should be able to find an agreement. The talks are currently ongoing.

Inter Milan Would Reinvest Some Of The Funds Collected From Selling Onana On Signing Lukaku From Chelsea

The source adds that after selling Marcelo Brozovic for Al-Nassr, the Nerazzurri acted swiftly to secure the signing of Davide Frattesi. That’s because Inter anticipated competition from their rivals AC Milan.

But despite prioritizing the arrival of the Italian midfielder, the report insists that the Beneamata are still determined to sign Lukaku.

The source expects Inter to spend five million euros to have the 30-year-old on loan for next season. The agreement should include an obligation to buy at the end of the season worth 30 million.
