Atalanta have given Inter Milan a price of €18-20 million for young goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi this summer.
This according to Italian news outlet Repubblica.it, who report that the Nerazzurri and La Dea are in regular contact for the 22-year-old, and that the Italian Under-21 international is a player who Inter see as a potential replacement for Andre Onana.
Inter are bracing for the possible exit of Onana.
Manchester United have made their second bid for the Cameroonian. The Red Devils are quickly moving closer and closer to meeting Inter’s asking price, and could make a deal in the near future.
Accordingly, searching for potential replacements for Onana is high on Inter’s list of priorities for the summer.
Shakhtar Donetsk keeper Anatoliy Trubin is high on the Nerazzurri’s shortlist. As is Valencia keepeer Giorgi Mamardashvili.
And another player on the Nerazzurri’s radar is young Atalanta and Italy Under-21 star Carnesecchi.
Atalanta Give Inter Milan €18-20M Asking Price For Marco Carnesecchi
Inter have been in regular talks with Atalanta in recent days.
Some of these have concerned defender Merih Demiral. The Turk is a major target for the Nerazzurri to replace Milan Skrinuiar.
However, Demiral is not the only Atalanta player who Inter have been asking about.
Carnesecchi is a player who has been linked with Inter for some time now.
The Nerazzurri reportedly had Carnesecchi under close observation throughout last season. The Italian youth international had spent the campaign on loan with Cremonese.
He made 27 appearances in the league over the course of the campaign.
Even though the Lombard team were relegated back to Serie B, it was not because of any faults from Carnesecchi.
Rather, the 23-year-old had an outstanding campaign. He then followed it up with an impressive Under-21 Euros with Italy this summer, despite the Azzurri having exited the tournament.
As such, Inter believe that Carnesecchi has what it takes to make a further step up.
According to Le Repubblica, Atalanta would be willing to listen to offers for Carnesecchi. However, they would expect a fee of at least €18-20 million.
Inter may well be willing to reach this amount with a bid, however. The Nerazzurri could be flush with cash from a sale of Onana in the relatively near future.
