Inter Milan and Bologna are both trying to sign teenage defender Patricio Pacifico from Defensor this summer.
This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, via FCInterNews, who reported live on air today that the Nerazzurri are considering a move for the 17-year-old as a future prospect, but that the Rossoblu are after his signature.
Inter are on the hunt for defenders for the future.
The Nerazzurri have already completed the signing of Germany Under-21 international Yann Bisseck from Aarhus.
The 22-year-old arrives on a five-year contract for next season.
Bisseck is a player who will have a place in the first-team squad for next season. At the same time, the German will also have the potential to grow and become more prominent as he matures in the coming seasons.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are also looking at younger profiles.
Inter are keen to have a strong core for not just the next couple seasons, but also the years to come after that.
Inter’s Assistant Sporting Director Dario Baccin has been regularly scouting South American football in search of young talents over the past few seasons.
And the executive appears to have uncovered a potential target for the future of the defense from Uruguayan football.
