Inter Milan Sporting Director Dreams Of Signing Man United-Linked Striker

Inter Milan Sporting Director Piero Ausilio is dreaming of signing Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund despite a very high price tag.

This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, who reported live on air via FCInter1908 that the Nerazzurri executive still has the Manchester United-linked Dane on the list of possible striker targets after targets after the abrupt end to Romelu Lukaku talks.

Everything is now over between Inter and Lukaku.

After weeks of trying to get a deal done with Chelsea for the Belgian, the Nerazzurri have pulled the plug. The fact that Lukaku decided to negotiate with Juventus has meant that Inter will completely reject the possibility of bringing him back.

This means that the Nerazzurri now must consider alternatives to the 30-year-old.

And Pedulla reports that at this stage, the Nerazzurri are still casting a very wide net.

Pedulla reports that Arsenal and USMNT star Folarin Balogun is top of Inter’s list. The 22-year-old would command a price tag of €40-45 million, but the Nerazzurri could be prepared to pay that amount.

However, he is not necessarily the dream target.

Inter Milan Sporting Director Piero Ausilio Wants To Go After Rasmus Hojlund

According to Pedulla, as far as young strikers with similar profiles to Lukaku go, Ausilio would really like to go after Atalanta striker Hojlund.

The 20-year-old has shone in his first season in Serie A last time around.

However, Pedulla notes, La Dea will want a very high fee for Hojlund. The Dane should cost €10-15 million more than Balogun.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri would have to face the competition of Juventus, and particularly of Man United, for the Dane’s signature.

Pedulla reports that a move to Old Trafford would in fact be Hojlund’s preference.

As far as other names, Pedulla suggests that Hojlund’s Atalanta teammate Duvan Zapata, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, and Spezia’s M’bala Nzola are not very serious targets for Inter.

Meanwhile, there are also Porto’s Mehdi Taremi and West Ham United’s Gianluca Scamacca in the frame, though they are far from Inter’s first-choice targets, Pedulla reports.

However, in Scamacca’s case, the 24-year-old would prefer a move to Roma.
