Inter Milan forward Joaquin Correa is in talks with a club from the Saudi Pro League for a potential transfer this summer.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews, who report that the 28-year-old former Lazio man would consider the Saudi option if he is unable to find a new club within European football.

The future of ex-Lazio forward Correa at Inter has looked up in the air for this summer.

On the one hand, the player is clearly no longer in favour at the Nerazzurri. All reports suggest that the club’s directors are ready to give up and offload the Argentine after two underwhelming seasons.

Even coach Simone Inzaghi, the main sponsor of bringing Correa in from Lazio, would reportedly be happy to see the player leave.

But on the other, finding suitors for the out-of-form Argentine would be no easy feat.

Correa has struggled with niggling injuries over his two seasons at Inter. These have disrupted the Argentine’s form, and would naturally make clubs wary about taking a chance on signing him.

So far this summer Fenerbahce have shown an interest in signing Correa. However, the player has rejected the possibility.

Meanwhile, Premier League duo West Ham United and Everton are reportedly in with a tentative interest.

Inter Milan Forward Joaquin Correa Willing To Consider The Saudi Option

Correa is aware that his time at Inter is effectively up. And the ex-Sevilla and Sampdoria forward is also mindful of the fact that a search for a new club within Europe won’t be straightforward.

Whilst Correa’s quality when on form is beyond question, form has now eluded him for two seasons.

Few teams within Europe would be inclined towards taking the risk. Correa would still be a significant investment in terms of a transfer fee and wages.

However, financial restrictions that European clubs faces are much less of a factor for teams in the Saudi Pro league.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia have shown little reluctance to splash the cash on big names from Europe in this summer of big spending. Even if those players have not been in their best form.

Therefore, interest has emerged in signing Correa.

And, SportItalia reports, the Argentine has gotten over some initial reluctance to consider such an offer. He is now in talks with a Saudi Pro League club.

Correa’s preference would still be to stay in Europe. But if that proves impossible, he could move to a team in Saudi Arabia.
