Inter Milan are in “chaos” in the goalkeeping position as they haven’t signed either Yann Sommer or Anatoliy Trubin.

This is highlighted by La Repubblica, via FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri will be relying on their third-choice keepers to play in preseason friendlies in Japan.

Now that both Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic are out the door, Inter need to sign goalkeepers before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Raffaele Di Gennaro arrives to replace Alex Cordaz as the third-choice keepeer. But at the moment, there is not a single starting-quality option in the position.

This has thrown the Nerazzurri’s goalkeeping situation into a state of real tumult.

Inter had hoped to wrap up a deal for Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer before heading to Japan. They have not done so, however.

The Nerazzurri’s squad are in the country as of today. Sommer will be tomorrow, but the Swiss will be travelling as a Bayern player.

Inter Milan Yet To Sign Either Sommer Or Trubin As Crunch Time Looms

Now, Inter are in crunch time.

This is made all the worse by the fact that the Nerazzurri have also not yet made significant progress on a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk star Anatoliy Trubin.

Inter’s plan has always been to sign Sommer as the short-term Onana replacement, and Trubin as the player who they’ll entrust for the longer-term future.

And for his part, the 21-year-old Ukrainian international wants to make the move. But the Nerazzurri and Trubin’s club Shakhtar are still miles apart on fee.

It remains to be seen whether Inter and Shakhtar will be able to find an agreement.

But according to Repubblica, there’s a real chance that Inter will simply move on to other targets. They cannot wait around for Trubin forever, and at the moment Shakhtar aren’t budging on their demands.

Yet another goalkeeper, Andre Radu, is also close to leaving Inter. La Repubblica report that the Romanian is headed to Premier League side Bournemouth.

So, it will be left to Di Gennaro and Filip Stankovic to steward Inter’s goal in friendly matches against Al-Nassr and Paris Saint-Germain.

Neither of the pair will likely see much if any action during the season proper. But for now, they’ll have to do.
