Yann Sommer has made clear to Bayern that he only wants to join Inter Milan this summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 34-year-old is pushing for the move to happen as soon ass possible, potentially even whilst both teams are in Japan for their respective preseason tours.
Sommer wants to make the switch to Inter.
The Swiss has had a full agreement with the Nerazzurri on a deal for some time. He has told Bayern that he’s grateful for the experience of the last six months, but wants to try his hand at a different adventure in Serie A now.
And now time is increasingly of the essence.
Inter are already in Japan for their preseason tour, and they are there without a starting-quality keeper.
The Nerazzurri want to wrap up Sommer’s signing as soon as possible. They want the security of knowing they’ve gotten their man, and to start integrating him into the team.
And for his part, the 34-year-old is of the same mind. Sommer is putting pressure on Bayern to give the decisive green light on the deal very soon.
Yann Sommer Tells Bayern To Hurry Up & Sell Him To Inter
According to the Corriere, Sommer already decided not to attend training yesterday.
That was Bayern’s final session before their departure for Japan.
As far as the former Borussia Monchengladbach keeper is concerned, he is effectively no longer a Bayern player. He could even decline to show up for further training sessions with the German champions, the Corriere suggests.
Sommer already has his agreement with Inter.
The player feels that it is only a matter of time.
And Bayern have already clearly indicated that they are happy to sell Sommer. They just want time to sort out their goalkeeping situation.
But on Sommer’s end, patience is running out.
