Inter Milan attacker Joaquin Correa is reportedly an option for Galatasaray in case they end up parting ways with Mauro Icardi.

The former Nerazzurri captain left Appiano Gentile after an ugly row with the management back in 2019. He spent three underwhelming years at Paris Saint-Germain. Although he collected several trophies, he didn’t display his best football.

Last season, he found his scoring touch once again while on loan at Galatasaray. He helped the club clinch the Turkish Super League title.

Earlier this summer, the Istanbul-based club completed the striker’s transfer on a permanent basis.

But according to Tuttosport via FcInter1908. Galatasaray could still end up selling Icardi despite having bought him just recently. In this case, the Turks could resort to Joaquin Correa as a replacement.

The 28-year-old joined Inter in 2021, accompanying his manager Simone Inzaghi who also made the switch from Lazio in the same summer.

However, the Argentine hasn’t been able to lock himself a starting spot. He remains a mere backup for his compatriot Lautaro Martinez.

On another note, the source sheds some light on Inter’s striker hunt. Alvaro Morata remains the favorite but Atletico Madrid are asking for a hefty figure (20.5 million euros) even though the player’s contract expires next summer.

The same goes for Folarin Balogun. Arsenal slapped a 40-million price tag on his back.

The alternative options remain Gianluca Scamacca from West Ham United and Udinese’s Brazilian hitman Beto.
