Inter Milan are reportedly expecting to finalize an agreement with Bayern Munich over the transfer of Yann Sommer.

The Nerazzurri have parted ways with legendary captain Samir Handanovic, who saw out his contract at the end of last season. For his part, Andre Onana joined Man United.

Therefore, Simone Inzaghi is eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new goalkeeper. The management has identified Sommer as the best available option to plug the gap between the sticks.

The 34-year-old joined Bayern Munich last January to fill in for the injured Manuel Neuer. But with the German working on his return to action, the Swiss is determined to join the Nerazzurri.

However, the Bundesliga champions remain reluctant to let the goalkeeper leave before the arrival of a replacement.

Yet, Sky Sport (via FcInterNews) insist that the two clubs have found an agreement. The source believes the Nerazzurri will finalize the deal today.

The report claims that Inter will pay 4 million euros for the goalkeeper’s services. Therefore, they won’t have to trigger the player’s release clause (worth six million).

Sommer made a name for himself during his early-career years at FC Basel.  He then spent eight and a half seasons at Borussia Monchengladbach before joining Bayern last winter.

The shot-stopper is immensely experienced at the international level. He represented Switzerland in 83 caps.
