Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi will reportedly earn a new contract as the management decided to recognize his efforts over the last two years.

The 47-year-old joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2021 following the departure of Antonio Conte.

The former Lazio striker and manager had some big shoes to fill. But while he hasn’t been able to replicate Conte’s Scudetto achievement in his first two attempts, he proved to be a specialist in Cup competitions.

The current Nerazzurri boss lifted the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup twice since joining the club. He famously led Inter towards the Champions League final.

Simone Inzaghi Has Done Enough To Earn Himself A New Contract At Inter Milan

Despite the team’s impressive performance, the Italians fell short against Man City in the grand finale, losing by a single goal. Rodri scored the winner for the Cityzens in the 68th minute while Inter’s stars were wasteful in front of goal.

So according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Inter Milan have decided to reward Inzaghi for his achievements.

The Italian coach will earn a new contract, pushing the expiry date from 2024 to 2025. The source expects the two parties to ink the deal at the start of the Serie A season.

As the report explains, this new contract will symbolize the trust and esteem that Inzaghi now enjoys at Inter, as well as his growing power within the club.

The source also mentions how Inzaghi received compliments for the way he handled Romelu Lukaku’s chaotic transfer saga.
