Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin has a “pact” with Inter Milan – either he’ll join this summer for a fee, or next summer on a free transfer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908, who report that the 21-year-old is determined to make the move whether it is now or in twelve month’s time.

At the moment, Inter are still waiting to see whether they can work out a deal with Shakhtar to sign Trubin this summer.

The Ukrainian international is the Nerazzurri’s main target in terms of a young keeper. Whilst Bayern Munich veteran Yann Sommer will directly replace Andre Onana, Trubin is the player who they have identified as a longer-term option in goal.

Negotiations with Shakhtar have not been easy, however.

Inter have hoped that the Ukrainian club would lower their demands for Trubin due to the fact that his current contract runs out at the end of June of next years.

However, so far that has not happened. The two clubs are currently miles apart on fee.

Unless Shakhtar drop the asking price a great deal, a move for Trubin to Inter this summer looks unlikely.

Inter Milan Could Wait To Sign Anatoliy Trubin Next Summer

A failure to sign Trubin this summer would not mean the end of Inter’s interest in the player, however.

According to the Gazzetta, the Nerazzurri would be ready to simply wait for the player to be available next summer.

Starting in January, Inter would be free to start negotiating directly with the player.

Therefore, while the Nerazzurri are hoping to use this fact as leverage to sign Trubin right away, they aren’t going to go all-out this summer if Shakhtar prove impossible to persuade to lower their demands.

Inter could simply wait and sign Trubin next summer instead.

Then, everything would come down to the will of the player.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter and Trubin have a “pact” of sorts. The Ukrainian wants to make the move, and if he does not do so for a fee this summer then he’ll be ready to start negotiating a deal on a free transfer when it becomes possible to do so.
