Inter Milan are working on extending the contract of wingback Federico Dimarco until the end of June 2028.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Il Giornale, via FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri want to hand the 25-year-old a new five-year deal worth around €3 million to secure his future at the club.

At the moment, Dimarco is under contract with Inter until the end of June 2026.

The Italian international signed his most recent contract extension with the club in the autumn of 2021.

However, the Nerazzurri are getting ready to extend that. The end of Dimarco’s current contract may still be some way in the future, but he is too important of a player to the team to be allowed to get anywhere near the current end of his deal.

The club also intend to reward the 25-year-old for his performances with an improved deal.

The likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United have also reportedly shown an interest in signing Dimarco in recent months.

Therefore, the Nerazzuri see it as important to extend the player’s deal soon.

Inter Milan Want To Extend Federico Dimarco’s Contract Until End Of June 2028

At the moment, Dimarco earns around €1.8 million net per season.

This figure is not really reflective of the Italian’s stature within the team.

After a promising 2021-22 season, his first of regular first-team football with Inter, last time around proved to be a real breakout campaign for Dimarco.

The wingback made fifty appearances across all competitions. His passing, crossing, and eye for goal proved to be crucial down the Nerazzurri’s left, as he ably replaced Ivan Perisic.

Dimarco was a key cog in the Inter side that made a run to last season’s Champions League final.

Naturally, Inter want to make sure the 25-year-old remains happy staying where he is.

Therefore, Il Giornale, the Nerazzurri are working to extend Dimarco’s contract. He is set to earn around €3 million net per season on a new deal.
