Inter Milan will reportedly resort to Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun amid their struggles to sign West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca.

The Nerazzurri are revamping their attacking department following the departures of Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku.

Marcus Thuram has joined Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa. But head coach Simone Inzaghi still needs an additional hitman within his ranks.

However, the management’s hunt for a new striker has been chaotic thus far, bouncing from one transfer target to another.

In recent days, Scamacca has emerged as Inter’s favorite candidate for the role. But in the last hours, Atalanta have come out of the blue to overtake the Beneamata in the race for the 24-year-old striker.

So according to Sportitalia via FcInterNews, Inter Milan will now revive their interest in Folarin Balogun.

The American international has been on the club’s shortlist for a while. Last season, he enjoyed a spectacular campaign on loan at Stade Reims, showcasing his scoring credentials.

But despite his exploits in Ligue 1, the 22-year-old remains out of Mikel Arteta’s technical project. The Gunners are looking to sell the player on a permanent basis this summer.

As the source reveals, the Nerazzurri have made new contacts with the North Londoners in recent hours. The report claims that 35 million euros could be sufficient to close the deal.

Balogun is an Arsenal youth product who represented England at several age ranks before pledging his allegiance to the USMNT.
