Bayern Munich goalkeeper Yann Sommer could undergo his medicals on a move to Inter Milan as early as tomorrow.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 34-year-old will already be in Italy tomorrow, and could aim to play in the friendly match against Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday.

It’s been something of a long and winding path, but Inter have just about gotten their man.

The Nerazzurri have finally shaken hands with Bayern on a deal for the transfer of Sommer.

Inter will not trigger the release clause in the Swiss’s contract with Bayern. However, they will pay a fee that is right around the same as the €6 million that the clause stipulates, in two instalments.

Inter should wrap up the signing in time for Sommer to have a couple weeks with his new teammates to prepare for the start of the new season.

Yann Sommer Could Undergo Inter Milan Medicals Tomorrow

According to the Gazzetta, Sommer could get his medicals out of the way already tomorrow.

After weeks of waiting for what looked like an inevitable transfer to happen, things are now suddenly moving fast.

The Gazzetta report that the former Borussia Monchengladbach wants to sign his contract as soon as he possibly can.

The newspaper also anticipates that the 34-year-old should be a part of the Nerazzurri’s squad in time for their friendly against Red Bull Salzburg.

Sommer was not an Inter player for the team’s preseason tour of Japan. He was in the country at the same time, but as part of the Bayern Munich squad.

This did mean that the Swiss did not get some important preparation in that Inter had hoped for.

However, Sommer will finally be able to get right to work in training.

And, at the start of next week, the 34-year-old can don the Inter shirt for the first time, against Salazburg.
