The agent of Simone Inzaghi has confirmed that the Inter Milan coach has already agreed an extension of his contract.

Speaking outside a meeting at Inter’s headquarters, as reported by Gianlucadimarzio.com, the Nerazzurri coach’s agent Tulio Tinti confirmed that he already agreed a new one-year deal whilst the team were on their tour of Japan.

As of yet, Inzaghi has not technically extended his deal beyond the end of next June.

As things stand, the 47-year-old former Lazio coach is out of contract is out of contract at the end of the season.

However, Inter do not intend for this to be the case for much longer.

The former Lazio coach’s agent has confirmed as much. In response to a question about the coach’s deal, he replied “Yes, he’s already agreed an extension.”

“It was on the team’s tour of Japan,” Tinti added. “Now only the paperwork needs to be wrapped up.”

The agent also noted that “It will be a one-year extension.”

Simone Inzaghi Has Already Agreed New Inter Milan Contract

Towards the end of last season, Inzaghi provided a convincing response to his critics as Inter coach.

The 47-year-old guided the Nerazzurri to the Champions League final. In addition, he also helped the team pick up the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana for the second time in as many seasons as Inter coach.

Therefore, it has always looked likely that the former Lazio coach would sign a new deal. Or, at the very least, that the club would offer him one.

However, as of yet, Inzaghi has not put pen to paper on a new contract.

As things stand, the coach’s deal runs out at the end of next June.

Considering that Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta has a well-known policy against heading into a season with a coach in such a situation, this has come as a surprise to some.

But as Tinti makes clear, there is already an agreement in place on a new deal.

It should only be a matter of time before Inzaghi and Inter make it official.
