Inter Milan are close to closing the door on Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic for good.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that the Nerazzurri will make their final decision tomorrow after making no headway in the past few days.

Whilst Samardzic’s transfer to Inter may not be entirely dead in the water, it is now getting very close.

According to Di Marzio, Inter are now very pessimistic about getting the deal back on track.

The Nerazzurri have tried to repair the relationship with the 21-year-old’s entourage in the past few days. Udinese have also tried to intervene to convince Samardzic’s representatives.

However, despite some hopeful reports, Di Marzio reports that there has been no real progress.

Inter and Samardzic’s entourage are still at an impasse. The reason, as is now well-known, is that the Nerazzurri were angry with financial requests that the player’s agents made at the eleventh hour, after he had even undergone his medicals.

Inter’s stance has not budged in the least. They will sign Samardzic if it’s at the deal they originally agreed, and not grant any other conditions.

Di Marzio: Samardzic Back Training With Udinese, Inter Close To Pulling The Plug

According to Di Marzio, Samardzic is not only back in Udine, as he has been for a couple days now.

The German-born Serbian international is also back in training.

Samardzic is still training separately from his Friulani teammates.

But Inter have now made it very clear that they’re close to pulling the plug on the deal for good.

Samardzic has expected for a couple weeks now that he’s become a Nerazzurri player for next season. But now, he may wind up heading into next season still wearing the Udinese shirt.

According to Di Marzio, Samardzic himself still wants to make the move to Inter.

However, as the situation stands, there would not be the conditions for that.

The Nerazzurri are still completely at loggerheads with the former RB Leipzig midfielder’s agent.

And now, Di Marzio anticipates, Inter aren’t far away from giving up for once and for all.

The Nerazzurri have already gone several days without pulling out of the deal for Samardzic once and for all. There have been faint signs of hope that the transfer could get back on track.

But tomorrow morning could finally mark the end of the whole soap opera, Di Marzio reports.

Unless there’s an unexpected change in the situation, Inter will close the door to Samardzic.
