Inter Milan wingback is currently in Germany to undergo medicals on a move from the Nerazzurri to Union Berlin.

This according to German news outlet Bz-Berlin, who report that the 29-year-old arrived this afternoon to get things moving rapidly on his transfer to the Champions League new boys.

Every transfer window since Gosens joined Inter from Atalanta in January of 2022 has been a “will he or won’t he” transfer saga linking Gosens to clubs in the Bundesliga.

This season, it has been Union and Wolfsburg who have been after the German.

The pair have attempted to do what the likes of Bayer Leverkusen failed to last summer by bringing Gosens in.

But in Union’s case, they have found success in their pursuit. The Champions League new boys are looking for reinforcements for their participation in Europe’s top club competition.

Whilst Wolfsburg tried to convince Gosens with an ambitious project, they cannot offer the 29-year-old European football next season.

Therefore, Union have been the team to get a deal over the line. They plan to immediately get Gosens up to speed with just a few days to go before the Bundesliga season kicks off.

Robin Gosens To Make The Switch To Union Berlin Imminently

According to Bz-Berlin, Gosens arrived in Germany earlier today.

The former Atalanta man travelled to the BER Airport in Berlin via a private jet.

This afternoon, Gosens should undergo his medicals on the move to his new club.

Tomorrw, the German outlet reports, the German should already be in training with his new teammates.

Given that Union begin their league campaign on Sunday against Mainz, there isn’t a great deal of time to start preparing.

In tomorrow’s training session, Gosens will get his new adventure underway.

In truth, the 29-year-old never quite lived up to expectations in an Inter shirt. However, Union feel that he still has plenty left to give and will give him the chance to show it.
