Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi joins an elite company, earning a nomination for the UEFA Manager of the Year Award.

The 47-year-old led the Nerazzurri towards the Champions League final for the first time since the treble-winning 2009/10 campaign.

Unfortunately for the Beneamata, they fell just short at the very last hurdle. Despite a courageous display, Inter succumbed to Manchester City who emerged victorious in Istanbul thanks to Rodri’s strike in the 68th minute.

Nevertheless, the Italian’s tactical prowess didn’t go unnoticed. Hence, he landed on the three-man shortlist for the UEFA Manager of the Year Award.

Inzaghi also collected the Coppa Italia trophy and the Italian Super Cup for the second season in a row.

The manager’s contract expires in June 2024. However, Italian sources widely expect him to sign a renewal that pushes the deadline to another year.

But unfortunately for Inzaghi, snatching the ultimate prize could be a daunting task based on the stern competition.

The former Lazio boss will be up against Pep Guardiola who prevailed over him in the aforementioned Champions League final.

Inter Milan Manager Simone Inzaghi Is On The Shortlist For The UEFA Manager Of The Year Award

The Spaniard enjoyed an astonishing campaign at Man City, also winning the Premier League title and the FA Cup before securing the club’s first-ever UCL triumph.

The Cityzens also added the UEFA Super Cup to their ever-growing trophy cabinet. They emerged victorious over Sevilla after dramatic penalty shootouts.

The third man on the list is Luciano Spalletti who oversaw a marvelous campaign at Napoli before resigning from his post at the end of the season.

The veteran tactician brought the Scudetto title to the Southern Italian city for the first time since Diego Maradona’s era.

As the official UEFA website reveals, the award winner will be announced at the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League group stage draw ceremony. It will take place on Thursday 31 August at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

Arguably, Guardiola will be the favorite to win the award following an all-conquering campaign. But for Inzaghi, earning a nomination remains an honorable achievement.

Therefore, betting on Inzaghi to win this award would be a long shot, but you’ll certainly have higher odds of winning by trying your luck at the Andar Bahar casino game.

Andar Bahar, also known as Katti, is a simple yet exciting card game that originated in India.

The Inter Milan boss will be hellbent on winning his first Scudetto title and the club’s 20th.
