Inter Milan have improved during the summer transfer window, in the view of Italian media.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, argue that the signings the Nerazzurri have made this summer have made them a more complete and competitive team.

It has been a busy summer for Inter.

There have been plenty of big name departures, and high-profile signings to replace them.

In defense, Milan Skriniar and Danilo D’Ambrosio are now gone. Replacing them have been Yann Bisseck, and soon Benjamin Pavard.

Meanwhile, stalwart midfielder Marcelo Brozovic has departed. Davide Frattesi has signed from Sassuolo to take his place.

On the wings, Carlos Augusto and Juan Cuadrado have replaced Robin Gosens and Raoul Bellanova respectively.

Strikers Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku have left. Marko Arnautovic and Marcus Thuram have replaced them.

And in goal, the Nerazzurri have undergone nothing short of a revolution.

The likes of Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic are gone. Meanwhile, Yann Sommer will be the new first-choice keeper, whilst Emil Auderoi will back him up.

Inter Milan Lose Important Players – But Gain New Balance

From the perspective of the Corriere, it’s possible that the overall quality of Inter’s squad has gone down when the dust settles on the summer transfer they’ve made.

The newspaper identifies Onana, Skriniar, Brozovic, Lukaku, and Dzeko as players in particular whose departure is a blow.

However, the newspaper argues that now Inter have a more complementary set of attributes spread among their squad.

Frattesi makes the team more direct in midfield – he will allow the team to play the counterattacking style that Simone Inzaghi wants.

Meanwhile, Pavard suits Inzaghi’s back three better Skriniar ever did.

The Corriere argue that Thuram’s ability to drop deeper and dribble gives Inter a new ability to unlock matches.

And the newspaper also suggest that Juan Cuadrado’s dribbling, crossing, and ability in passing combinations gives the Nerazzurri an entirely new dimension on their right flank.
