Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has made very clear that midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is not for sale despite Saudi Pro League interest.

Speaking to the Radio della Serie A program, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri executive explained that there is no chance of the Nerazzurri selling a key player with virtually no time to replace him.

Calhanoglu is a player who has been linked with the Saudi Pro League in recent days.

The Saudi top flight has been spending freely this summer. And the 29-year-old AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen could be on their radar.

But according to Marotta, there would be no chance of Inter accepting any offers for Calhanoglu.

The Turkish international is a vital player to Inter on the pitch. He is the man at the heart of midfield in the regista role, particularly since Marcelo Brozovic left.

With just a week left in the summer transfer window, there would hardly be time left for Inter to replace a player like Calhanogly adequately.

Therefore, Marotta has made clear, Inter will not be selling the midfielder.

Marotta Makes Clear Inter Milan Won’t Sell Hakan Calhanoglu

Inter CEO fielded a question about the links between Calhanoglu and the Saudi Pro League.

“I won’t deny that we’ve received offers for him,” the executive admitted.

“But at this stage we wouldn’t consider selling a player who is part of the spine of our team,” he continued.

“It would be impossible.”

Calhanoglu signed a contract with Inter until the end of June 2027 this summer.

The Turk joined Inter from city rivals Milan in the summer of 2021. He came on a free transfer after his contract with the Rossoneri ran out.

In the two seasons he’s been at the club, Calhanoglu has become a key player in midfield.
