Former Nerazzurri defender Massimo Paganin feels that overall Inter Milan have done well in the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio, via L’Interista, the former defender also admitted that he doesn’t quite understand why his old club decided to bring back forward Alexis Sanchez this summer.

To say that Inter have had a busy summer would be an understatement.

The Nerazzurri have already hit double figures in terms of both incomings and outgoings.

And one way or another, it looks inevitable that one more player will still arrive – a defender.

Inter are hoping that the defender in question will be Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard. But if it’s not, there are also alternatives.

Once Pavard or another defender comes in, he will be Inter’s eleventh signing of the summer.

There’s no question that this has been a summer of upheaval for Inter. And it has raised questions about exactly how strong this new-look Nerazzurri squad is.

Massimo Paganin: Inter Milan Have Done Well With Summer Signings

Former Nerazzurri defender Paganin gave his assessment of his old team’s transfer business during the summer window.

“To me, it seems like Inter have done well during the summer transfer window,” he said.

“Even if I don’t quite understand the return of Sanchez, or the signing of Arnautovic.

“Also, they still haven’t signed a central defender,” Paganin noted. “But if they bring in Pavard, then they will have a full complement of options in defense.”

This summer, Inter have already switched out all three goalkeepers – Yann Sommer, Emil Audero, and Raffaele Di Gennaro have replaced Samir Handanovic, Andreo Onana, and Alex Cordaz.

Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez is the only striker who remains from last season.

Edin Dzeko, Romelu Lukaku, and Joaquin Correa have left. Replacing them are Marcus Thuram, Marko Arnautovic, and Alexis Sanchez.
