There are four main names on Inter Milan’s list of possible backup targets should they miss out on Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who name Giorgio Scalvini, Perr Schuurs, Japhet Tanganga, and Trevoh Chalobah as players who the Nerazzurri could go after in defense if they’re unable to sign Pavard.

One way or the other, Inter will soon know whether or not their pursuit of Pavard should prove successful.

The Nerazzurri expect a final response from Bayern by this afternoon. And they are optimistic about the prospects.

But should the Bavarians continue to drag their heels on a green light for the deal, Inter are ready.

Tuttosport report that they have four main targets they could go after in the final days of the transfer window.

Scalvini, Schuurs, Tanganga & Chalobah Inter Milan’s Benjamin Pavard Backups

High on Inter’s list is Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini.

The Nerazzurri have been big admirers of the teenage Italian defender for some time now.

The big issue, as ever, remains Atalanta’s high valuation of Scalvini. But the Nerazzurri would be ready to make a late push to bring him in.

Meanwhile, Torino’s Perr Schuurs is also a player Inter have already established contact regarding.

The biggest issue for the Nerazzurri with the Dutchman may not prove to be cost, however. Schuurs would likely cost more than Pavard, but not by that much.

Rather, there are stylistic questions about the former Ajax defender.

Inter are seeking a player who can play on the right side of their back three.

Schuurs is not necessarily a natural fit in that role in the way that Pavard is.

Meanwhile, there are two players in the Premier League also on Inter’s shortlist.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga is a player they have admired for some time. However, the 24-year-old’s lack of playing time in recent seasons is a concern.

And Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah is a player Inter have been tracking for over a year now.
