The Milan derby between Inter Milan and AC Milan after the international break is already very close to being a complete sell-out.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

At the moment, city rivals Inter and Milan are two of the four teams with perfect records remaining in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri have beaten Monza and Cagliari in their opening two matches.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri have dispatched Bologna and Torino.

Furthermore, it is not just the fact that the two derby rivals have won both their opening matches that has caught the eye – it is the style in which they’ve done so.

Inter and Milan have marked themselves out as early favourites for the Serie A title.

Napoli will certainly be big candidates to defend their crown. And Juventus still look to be in the running, as well as Roma and Lazio.

But it looks to be another season in which the Milan derby could be a fixture with major title implications in the Italian top flight.

Milan Derby Close To Being Sold-Out Already

It is little surprise, then, that the Gazzetta report that the presale tickets for the derby on September 16 have already gone.

The 40,000 presale tickets were snapped up virtually instantly. And the remaining tickets for the derby match could be gone by the end of today.

Inter and Milan each have one more match to go before the derby.

Each arguably face their toughest test of the season yet. The Nerazzurri host Fiorentina, whilst the Rossoneri travel to face Roma.

Then, there will be the September international break.

But after that, it won’t be long at all.

The anticipation is building virtually to a fever pitch.

The Nerazzurri are nominally the home side for the first derby match of the season.

Therefore, Inter are handling the sale of the tickets for the match. And one thing that’s not in doubt is that both the home support as well as the “away” section will be packed to the brim.
