Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi recalls last season’s Champions League campaign and is aiming for another memorable European adventure.

The 47-year-old was commenting on Thursday’s group stage draw. The Nerazzurri landed in Group D alongside Benfica, Red Bull Salzburg and Real Sociedad.

The Italians will have to finish in one of the top two positions to book a spot in the knockout stages.

For his part, Inzaghi remembers last season’s unforgettable journey. The Beneamata went all the way to the final in Istanbul.

Despite a valiant effort, their lackluster finishing cost them dearly, as they lost 0-1 at the hands of Manchester City.

“Last year we made an incredible journey which took us to the final in Istanbul where we were one step away from fulfilling the dream,” recalled Inzaghi in his interview with the club’s channel via FcInter1908.

“We challenged great teams, and fought on difficult grounds but this gave us even more awareness of our strength.”
