Midfielders Stefano Sensi and Kristjan Asllani could potentially be left out of Inter Milan’s squad list for the Champions League group stage.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter have decided to make one more signing in midfield before the summer transfer window closes.

The Nerazzurri brought in Dutch international Davy Klaassen from Ajax on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old has arrived to reinforce Inter’s midfield options. This also takes the total number of senior midfielders in the Nerazzurri’s squad to seven.

Apart from the starting trio of Nicolo Barella, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Hakan Calhanoglu, there is also Davide Frattesi.

There is certainly little chance of any of that quartet not being in Inter’s squad list for the Champions League group stage.

Meanwhile, it seems clear that Klaassen will be in the list as well. The 30-year-old arrives to bolster the depth options available to Simone Inzaghi.

Sensi & Asllani At Risk In Inter Milan UCL Squad List

The question, then, could be whether anyone else will have to make way for Klaassen’s inclusion.

UEFA rules means that a team cannot register more than 25 players in total for the Champions League.

Inter have three goalkeepers and six defenders. Then, there are four wingbacks and four strikers.

On paper, it would be possible for Inter to fit seven midfielders into their European squad, therefore.

However, there would then be questions of whether or not the Nerazzurri will include any youth team players.

According to Tuttosport, the immediate future of both Asllani and Sensi is in a degree of question.

Whilst the pair will be in Inter’s Serie A squad, coach Inzaghi could decide to leave them out in Europe.

Meanwhile, Lucien Agoume is also still part of Inter’s squad. However, there is little hope of the Frenchman playing a role.
