Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta feels that regardless of the changes the Nerazzurri made this summer, they’re aiming for the Serie A title.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN before this evening’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina, via FCInterNews, Marotta expressed confidence in his team’s chances of winning the title this season.

Now Inter’s summer transfer window is all wrapped up.

The Nerazzurri can now put 100% of their focus on the pitch. There’s no longer any uncertainty about who will be in the squad.

It’s been an eventful summer that’s seen plenty of upheaval.

There have been some big name departures – like Milan Skriniar, Marcelo Brozovic, Andre Onana, and Edin Dzeko.

And coming in the other direction have been several new signings. Benjamin Pavard and Davy Klaassen rounded off the transfer window on the final couple days.

Inter have won their first two matches of the season. They’ve certainly sent an early message that they can fight for the Serie A title.

But things aren’t going to get any easier – starting with this evening’s match against Fiorentina.

Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta Feels Team Can Aim For Serie A Title

Marotta said of Inter’s squad that “It has a different look. We’ve made big changes, rejuvenated the squad.”

“Our goal remains the same as ever,” he continued. “A club of this stature has to try and do well in every single competition.”

Marotta argued that “The team is very competitive. We have an excellent coach, a stronger mentality.”

“This group has strong team spirit,” he added.

Of facing Fiorentina, the Inter executive said that “We have plenty of respect for our opponents. But we have to live up to our obligations.”

And as to whether he thinks that the Serie A title race could come down to Inter and their city rivals AC Milan, Marotta opined that “There are other teams in it as well.”

“I think it will be the same group of teams as in the past few seasons,” he predicted.

“We’re in it, so are Milan. It will be a fierce title race based on what we’ve already seen.”
