Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram believes that defender Benjamin Pavard can be a success at the Nerazzurri.

Speaking to InterTV ahead of the team’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina this evening, via FCInterNews, the Frenchman gave his thoughts on his France international teammate, as well as his own settling-in process.

Thuram is not the only French international to join Inter this summer.

Nor is the 26-year-old the only big name to arrive from the Bundesliga.

Former Stuttgart and Lille defender Pavard completed his transfer from German champions Bayern last week.

The 2018 World Cup winner naturally arrives with big expectations on his shoulders.

Pavard has already won virtually there is to win at club and international level. He is the player who Inter have settled on for the difficult task of replacing Milan Skriniar in their backline.

Thuram has already been working on fitting in to this Inter team.

And for his part, the Frenchman has high hopes for what his Les Bleus teammate Pavard can bring to the Nerazzurri over the rest of this season and beyond.

Marcus Thuram Has High Hopes For Benjamin Pavard At Inter

Thuram said of Inter’s newest defensive reinforcement that “He’s won trophies everywhere he’s gone. Both at Bayern and with the national team.”

“I think he’ll do well here,” he said of his fellow Frenchman.

Asked if he expected to settle in to life at Inter easily, Thuram replied “No.”

“But this is a great team with top players. They help me improve every day.”

“I thank them for that,” the striker said of his Nerazzurri teammates.

As for this evening’s match against Fiorentina, Thuram said that “[We prepared for it] the same way we do for every match, each week.”

“We hope to play a great match this evening,” the striker then added.
