Inter Milan star Federico Dimarco is reportedly negotiating a new contract with the management. But the two parties still have to bridge the gap.

The 25-year-old is a Nerazzurri youth product and a staunch club supporter since childhood.

The Italian international has been on a rapid rise in recent seasons. He has now established himself as a stalwart in Simone Inzaghi’s starting formation.

The in-form wingback has a contract that runs until 2026 and sees him pocket 1.8 million euros per season as net wages.

So while a renewal may not be an urgent matter at the moment, the management would like to secure the player’s services with a new long-term contract while offering him a well-deserved pay rise.

According to FcInterNews, the two parties have already reached an agreement regarding the duration. The player should ink a deal that pushes the deadline until 2028.

However, Inter and Dimarco must still agree on the salary. As the source explains, the management is offering the player yearly wages between 2.5 and 2.7 million.

On the other hand, the left-back is holding out for 3.5 million. This would place him amongst the highest earners on the club’s wage bill.

Therefore, the source expects the two parties to find a compromise in the region of 3 million euros.

The report also explains how the player has no intention of leaving the Nerazzurri. This would certainly boost the club’s chances of reaching a final accord with the menacing wingback.

Dimarco is currently on international duty after receiving a call-up from new Italy coach Luciano Spalletti.
