Inter Milan are aiming to build their new stadium in the Rozzano area in time for the 2028-29 season.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that there will not be any significant commercial activities surrounding the new stadium as the Nerazzurri start to firm up their plans for the new structure.

Inter are now focusing their efforts in the new stadium project on the Rozzano area.

The Nerazzurri have an exclusive right to conduct a feasibility study in the area until the end of April of next year.

Moreover, Inter can rely on zoning changes to allow for the construction of a stadium. Currently, there is only authorization to build residential or shopping developments, but the Gazzetta anticipate that zoning for a stadium is only the stroke of a pen away.

Inter Milan Aiming For 2028 With Rozzano Stadium – No Commercial Acitivities

With the San Siro project dead in the water and AC Milan having gone their own way, Inter are now going full speed ahead with their plans in the Rozzano area.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter are planning to continue their relationship with the architectural firm Populous.

It had been Populous who designed the plans for the “Cathedral” stadium that was to replace the San Siro.

That will not actually happen – the San Siro will instead remain standing.

But according to the Gazzetta, Populous will retain the design. Inter will instead build a version of the “Cathedral” stadium in the Rozzano area.

Inter are hoping to break ground on the stadium in 2025.

The Nerazzurri’s intention is to completely finalize plans next year. Then construction can begin in 2025.

The timeline is for Inter to be able to play in the new stadium for the start of the 2028-29 season.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, Inter are not currently planning to include any commercial activities.

The idea of including commercial developments like shopping, hotels, and restaurant, had been part of Inter and Milan’s San Siro replacement plans.

This would entail an opportunity to bring in additional revenues.

However, the Gazzetta report, that is not currently in Inter’s plans. They are only planning for the construction of the stadium itself.

There will, however, be more high-cost corporate and hospitality seating. This will entail higher earnings.
