The valuation of midfielder Nicolo Barella has risen past €100 million – but the 26-year-old Italian international has not intention of leaving Inter Milan.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who note that the Nerazzurri have already rebuffed all offers for their star midfielder.

Barella is now heading into his fifth season as an Inter player.

And the Italian international has only grown in importance to the team with each passing season. Now, Barella is at the heart of the Nerazzurri’s engine room.

The 26-year-old has earned a nomination for the Ballon D’Or. He is on the thirty-player shortlist for the prize, along with teammate Lautaro Martinez.

Barella’s quality and his well-rounded style of play have not been ignored by some of Europe’s elite.

From the Premier League, the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool have reportedly eyed up the Inter midfielder.

And Newcastle United reportedly made some inquired to sign Barella before turning their intention to Sandro Toneli from the Nerazzurri’s city rivals AC Milan.

But Inter gave Newcastle the same message they’ve done for every club who’ve come forward for Barella. He’s not for sale.

As the Gazzetta note, Chelsea paid €120 million to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.

And Arsenal topped that, spending €122 million on West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.

For the Gazzetta, it is clear that Barella would be worth well over €100 million by this standard. And that is indeed somewhere around what Nerazzurri have placed on the 26-year-old as an absolute bare minimum price tag.

However, in any event Barella himself has zero intention of leaving Inter.

The Gazzetta report that the Italian international has made his view very clear in the face of all transfer interest. Barella is not likely to be tempted by any offers from the Premier League or from any other of Europe’s elite clubs.

The 26-year-old is happy at Inter, where he has grown into a real locker room leader.

Barella appreciates the place that he has at the Nerazzurri, and wants to lay down his marker in the long term.
