Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram and defender Benjamin Pavard are both set to start for France in Tuesday’s friendly match against Germany.
This according to French news outlet TF1, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri pair will come into the Les Bleus starting eleven.
Against Ireland in a World Cup qualifier, neither Thuram nor Pavard started.
In attack, it was AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud who led the line in the starting eleven. Meanwhile, behind the veteran former Chelsea and Arsenal striker were Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele, and Kylian Mbappe.
And in defense, Jules Kounde started on the right for Les Bleus.
At centre-back, Lucas Hernandez and Dayot Upamecano played in the centre.
Both French internationals in the Inter squad did come off the bench against Ireland, however.
Thuram came on as a first-half substitute for Giroud after the 36-year-old Rossoneri striker suffered an injury.
The Inter man scored France’s second goal in a 2-0 win early in the second half.
And Nerazzurri defender Pavard also came on as a substitute, albeit very late. He replaced Barcelona’s Kounde on the right side of the defense in the 89th minute of the match.
Marcus Thuram & Benjamin Pavard Will Both Start For France Vs Germany
On Tuesday, France will play a friendly match against Germany.
This will give Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps an opportunity to shake up his lineup a bit. Without the competitive pressure of qualifying for the Euros, the coach will be free to experiment.
And according to TF1 he will hand starts to both Inter players at his disposal.
Thuram will get the chance to further impress after his goal against Ireland. That goal followed a strong start to his first season at Inter.
And Pavard will also start.
The 27-year-old had been a regular starter for France at the 2018 World Cup, including in the final against Croatia. However, he has lost his place to Kounde in the past couple years.
