Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan will start for Inter Milan in the derby clash with AC Milan over the weekend.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have decisions to make all over the pitch in Saturday’s match against Milan.

In the first three matches of the Serie A season, the coach named an unchanged lineup.

There is a sense, however, that that will have to change to accommodate the fixture list after the international break.

With so many matches between the league and Champions League, Inzaghi will have to rotate his squad significantly.

Against Milan, however, the Corriere reports that Inzaghi’s only priority will be to play his strongest lineup, however. The squad rotation can come in the matches after.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan Will Definitely Start For Inter Milan Vs AC Milan

Former Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United midfielder Mkhitaryan is one of the players who’s started each of Inter’s Serie A matches so far.

The Armenian has retired from his national team. Therefore, he has been at Inzaghi’s disposal in training during the international break.

This is a big boost for Inter and Inzaghi.

Mkhitaryan has not had to worry about picking up an injury on international duty, or returning late to Nerazzurri training.

Therefore, the 34-year-old has been working only to prepare for the derby.

With the Nerazzurri playing twice a week upon returning from the break, there’s no doubt that Mkhitaryan will start alternating more with summer signing Davide Frattesi.

But in the derby next weekend, Inzaghi has only one consideration.

Sky report that the coach is absolutely certain that he will start Mkhitaryan in the derby.

The Armenian will line up on the left side of the midfield trio, in what has become his customary position.
