Former Nerazzurri, Roma, Bologna, and Salernitana Sporting Directors feels Inter Milan are the favourites in the Serie A title race.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Roma, via FCInterNews, the former director gave his reasons for calling the Nerazzurri the “team to beat” in the race to win the Italian top flight.

It’s still very early on in the Serie A season.

But with three matches now in the rear view mirror, there look to be two teams in particular laying down a marker in the title race.

City rivals Inter and AC Milan have both enjoyed perfect starts to the campaign. And the pair are on a collision course with the derby set for this weekend.

Meanwhile, champions Napoli got off to a strong start themselves, before hitting their first big stumbling block of the season in the form of a disappointing home defeat against Lazio.

And then Juventus are only a couple of points back from the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri.

But in the view of former Inter Sporting Director Sabatini, there is a clear favourite. And it is his former team the Nerazzurri.

Sabatini: Inter Milan Are The “Team To Beat” In Race For Serie A Title

Sabatini said of Inter that “They’re the team to beat.”

“Napoli are capable of fighting for the Scudetto,” he continued.

“And many have said Milan, but I don’t believe it will be them,” he continued.

Sabatini also gave the view that “Inter have had an excellent transfer window.

The former director singled out one signing in particular. “Benjamin Pavard can make the difference,” he said.

“He’s capable of playing as an attacking wingback in a back five, and in defense in a back four or a back three,” Sabatini said of the French,an. “He’s a top player.”

“Inter are the team to beat,” he predicted. “They have a very deep squad.”
